I am an Indian

I am an Indian.

A country with great contradictions,

Captured differently in our heart,

with different reality on the ground.

A Land where which prides in its culture

Where it was OK to build temple of Kamadeva

Hundreds of Years ago

But it’s not OK to canvasize your Imagination now

As it doesn’t satisfy a Sena’s ego.

A land of brave people,

and weak leaders elected by brave people.

A nation where politician seems to come

from the most deprived class of the society.

Uneducated, Ignorant, Senseless, Irrelavent and Useless.

Where Modis and Mayawatis move with layers of Security,

Insecure of people who they are suppose to serve

And Crib about national security.

A Land where President Holidays in South East,

And a party plans to hold Bandh,

As Mumbai Burns.

A Land where politicians can’t be criminals,

Where a Godfather kill South Indians to become a Neta,

And his Godson kills North Indians to become a bigger Neta.

Where people will not recognize you as fellow Indians,

But as Biharis, Marathi  and Tamilians.

The pride in the leadership is long gone.

Pride in my religion is gone,

Hindu or Muslim – I am scared to tell anyone.

Pride in my state is gone,

I wish the pride in India remains,

I am an Indian and I wish to remain one.

How to write a good blog!

I found this very interesting article circulated by the Knowledge Management Team of My Company with an intention of promoting corporate blogging. Very relevant to all the fellow bloggers and can be kept as a check list for every blog post we make:

So copying straight from the mail circulated, here are some of the best blogging practices:

How can you make sure that people read your blog? Here are a few tips on writing a good blog, and making sure that your readers stay interested.

  • Make your opinion known: Be Personal - People like blogs because they are written by people and not corporations. When writing your blog, make sure that you write the way you talk. You can even ask your reader questions. This will encourage your readers to leave comments on your blog, and come back to read more. If you write as if you are writing a formal letter or a business report, readers will get bored and will switch over!
  • More the links, more informative it is! - Support your post with links to other web pages that are contextual to your post.
  • Write Less - Give the maximum amount of information with the least amount of words. Time is finite and people are infinitely busy. Blast your knowledge into the reader at the speed of sound.
  • 250 is enough! - A long post is easier to forget and harder to get into. A short post is the opposite.
  • Make Headlines snappy - Contain your whole argument in your headline. Check out National newspapers to see how they do it.
  • Include bullet point lists - We all love lists, it structures the information in an easily digestible format.
  • Make your posts easy to scan - Every few paragraphs insert a sub heading. Make sentences and headlines short and to the point.
  • Be consistent with your style - People like to know what to expect. Once you have settled on a style for your audience, stick to it.
  • Keywords are the key! - Think about what keywords people would use to search for your post and include them in the body text and headers. Make sure, the keyword placement is natural and does not seem out of place.
  • Edit your post - Good writing is in the editing. Before you hit the submit button, re-read your post and cut out the extra portions that you don't need.

Whats Happening?

Well so many things-
 The bad one first:
Broke my little finger in an accident couple of weeks back. The moment  I realised that i had broken my finger, I was more angry than in pain, why do people drive on the wrong side that also on the red. So furious I was that I got up, checked whether my Friend is fine or not, marched towards the 15 year  old kid and slapped him tight on his face with the other hand, came back and rode my bike to the hospital which was on the other side of the road. Later only to regret that I should have  not slapped the kid, the poor chap was only delivering tiffins and must be in a hurry. I remember how we use to shout at Bahadur when he use to be late for dinner during the final years at DU.
The next couple of day passed in guilt, wondering how will this metal rod be removed from the finger and writing a business case with one hand(it wasn't tough as I realised that I do more of copy paste).

As  I am still recovering from the broken finger, caught this really bad cold which will just not go away, I must have wasted thousands of tissue paper in 3 weeks in spite of severe instruction by our admin dept. not waste tissue paper and user your own handkerchief...cost cutting...you know!!

The worse  was that I was aligned to a manager who is expects stars in no time...he kept selling me every junk of work by saying "Ranjan, this requires a bit of thought leadership" and I kept buying it. But when you are in misery sometimes you get the best of the advices.

And some good News-
Visited my village. an awesome awesome awesome experience.  Saw some of the most wonderful places..like the place where prospective grooms with their resume use to assemble to be chosen by the girl.

Decided not travel till Feb and explore more areas in business other than business analysis.

And my fav.
Bought an 1769 sq.ft three bedroom flat near Noida. Might be moving in by Jan end.
