Religion or just a community

The HC judgment on Ayodhya dispute is about to delivered in few days, the country is again debating whether the verdict or even the issue makes sense after so many years? I wonder:

• Building a temple or mosque on place which has seen death of so many innocents will please which God or Allah?
  
• Is it really a matter of faith or a community's ego?
  
• Will Muslims and Hindus be prosperous (economically, socially and spiritually) if a temple or mosque is built over the site?
  
• Will popularity of Ram or Allah decrease if a temple or mosque is not build over that site?
  

Hinduism or Islam are they religion or just communities? The whole concept of universality taught by every religion has been forgotten, tolerance no longer exist in any community. Perhaps we need a new word to describe Dharma, the universal law of nature. The meaning of religion has changed, it is more sectarian now. The issues or debates around religion are sensitive, but browsing through I came across something which was inscribed on stone by Emperor Ashoka 2300 years ago, and every word is so relevant even today:
One should not honor only one's own religion and condemn other religions. Instead, one should honor other religions for various reasons. By so doing one helps one's own religion to grow and also renders service to the religions of others. In acting otherwise one digs the grave of one's own religion and harms other religions as well. Someone who honors his own religion and condemns other religions may do so out of devotion to his religion, thinking, 'I will glorify my religion'; but his actions injure his own religion more gravely. Concord is good. Let all listen and be willing to listen to the doctrines professed by others. (Rock Edict12)
