I have hit a wall

Past few months has been …well the best word I can use is different. Yes, past few months has been really different. On the personal as well as on the professional front. But I had to  post something, it has been so many  months, so here are some of my observation from the  current phase of my life:

First, I have hit a wall

Yes I have. It is a serious issue and hence the title.  I just  can't write, my  attention is worse than my  8 year old nephew and it has become really  difficult for me to complete  a single task  without making an extra effort and I have no clue on how to  deal with it.

Second, A man's desire needs to attain a critical mass before it converts into  a sustainable action.

It  has been more than a decade that I wished to join a gym and do something about my fitness. I remember my  first year in Delhi University, gifted with  a lot of time to  waste,  I decided to join a gym …went into  one but was intimidated by  girls lifting  more weight that I could ever imagine and the high cost and never went back. After three years, when I joined Symbi to do my  Master's ...gym, yoga and aerobics was compulsory.. but I still managed to  find a excuse for evading...I was  just too lazy to get up at 6AM in the morning  and I always procrastinated. After all these years…even after staying in a house in USA with  well  equipped Gym...I could never managed to turn my desire into action, until this year. I have spent 2 months, March and April, in a hotel in NJ, USA. All I did was to get in the car, go to  work , come back, eat rice and sleep. For the first time I gained 5 Kilos in 2 months, I felt horrible. The first I did after landing in India that evening was to join a health club. Now it has been more than a month and I work out daily with  no shame or fear… and I love to run on the treadmill

Third, I have stopped reading

I don't know why and when it happened, the last book I read was How the Mighty Fall by Jim Collins in March this year. After that I have bought several books and most of the them are lying around my  bed, half read or yet to  opened. But I have few books that I want to  complete this year and here they are:
1. Operation Red Lotus History of 1857 written by the Tope family. I bought this book at the Rajiv Chowk metrostation and was impressed by the presentation and the abstract .. will surely read this by year end.
2. Digha Nikaya: The Long Discourses of Buddha
3. Majjhima Nikaya: The Middle-Length Discourses of Buddha.  My  interest in  Buddha and his teachings continues and grows more I read about him.
4. Resonate by Nancy Durate:  I bought this at JFK Airport last month, it is very  useful book that focuses on creating  visual stories that makes presentations better. I read few pages and  want to  go cover to cover soon

Fourth, there is no substitute to spontaneity

Particularly when you are writing, it takes the effort out of the task and makes the entire experience so easy  and enjoyable. I wish to be more spontaneous.

I Ranjhan,

I go through these phases all the time too. I think everyone does.I have been trying to get into a gym since I was in high school and yet I have not been able to string two days in a row where I visited a gym.
I find that the most effective way to workout is to find some friends and play a sport like football, basketball or tennis. Bicycling is fun and a good form of exercise too.
I hope you keep up the writing. A lot of your blogs contain valuable information and they are interesting as well.
Have a good one
